Mactavish CEO Bruce Hepburn and Mactavish special advisor, former Law Commissioner David Hertzell, will both be panel speakers at the forthcoming Devereux Chambers seminar ‘The Insurance Act 2015 – A New Dawn for Commercial Insurance Law’.
The Devereux event will take the form of a practical panel session which, as well as Mactavish, will include Colin Edelman QC and guest speakers from global insurance group, Catlin. The intention of the panel is to consider the implications of the new law and the issues arising during the transitional period. The guest panel will also explore the impact of contentious issues identified by an earlier Mock Trial event, scheduled for May 2015, which is being hosted by the British Insurance Law Association.
Topics covered at the Devereux Insurance Act 2015 seminar in July – at a central London venue tbc – will include potentially contentious issues of concern to insurers, policyholders, brokers and their legal advisers; the preparations which should be put in place within the commercial insurance market and current trends in policy drafting which seek to anticipate the effect of the new Act.
The seminar, on 7th July 2015, is for solicitor clients of Deveraux Chambers and a second more focused event is being planned for Mactavish clients specifically.
Mactavish, as the UK’s leading expert on Insurance Governance, is delighted to be taking part in the forthcoming Devereux Chambers seminar in July and looks forward to exploring these vital issues in respect of the Insurance Act 2015.
Both Mactavish and David Hertzell worked closely together throughout the process of insurance law reform and Mactavish were amongst the group of core consultees the Law Commission relied on to prepare evidence in support of the Insurance Act 2015. Having spent the last seven years at the Law Commission, David Hertzell joined the Mactavish team earlier this year to work exclusively on Insurance Governance as a special advisor.
