Bruce Hepburn, CEO of Mactavish, commented in the FT’s piece on the imminent introduction to Parliament of the Law Commission’s proposed reforms to insurance law. Mr Hepburn said how delighted he was that reforms were finally being made but drew attention to that fact that they have been “watered down by the removal of two key clauses”. Alistair Gray, the FT’s insurance correspondent, explained how the reforms are intended to prevent insurance companies rejecting business customers’ claims for “tenuous reasons” but focused the article on how the eventual proposals are “disappointing critics”.
